Yoga for Runners
I return to yoga studios because I find a teacher that inspires me personally and helps to improve my physical yoga practice. At Mala Yoga I found Stephanie. I’m sure the other teachers at Mala are lovely, but I keep returning to Stephanie’s classes; she is a runner and I’m sure that prompts a large part of my devotion. Stephanie specifically teaches a series of yoga classes geared towards runners, emphasizing poses that will bolster our time out on the pavement.
Yesterday during a private lesson (private only because no one else showed up for the 6:30 a.m. class) I came to understand that Stephanie’s return to running was a goal that she set for herself from a hospital bed. She shared her story with NYRR as part of their 2014 NYC Half Stories series.
Inspiring!
At Home Abroad
After failed attempts of moving to New Zealand and then Ireland, I sometimes worry that I’ve missed an opportunity to call another country home. However, learning of this family’s 10-month journey was inspiring and gives me hope that an international adventure could still be within my reach; with the added benefit of Cabs serving as one of my wing-men.
The Morning After: Episode 105
My brilliant friend, Maggie White, the Editor and Chief in The Local Palate magazine was a guest on this Sunday’s The Morning After on Heritage Radio. Her thoughts on Southern food and the region are definitely worth a listen.
It was also a gentle reminder that my subscription has run out and I must renew!
